Pilasinee Rattarangsi

Khun Pilasinee is a Senior Lighting Designer at DJCoalition Bangkok. Her sustainable architectural background, passion for light and specialist technical knowledge has made her one of Asia’s leading Lighting Designers.

Illuminating and flickering childhood toys first sparked her interest in light, this interest continued in her years studying Architecture. Her designs present a conversation between light and shadow.

Khun Pilasinee studied at Assumption University (international programme), Thailand and graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture with a Rector Certificate of Honours. She continued her studies with a Master of Architectural Lighting Design from Hochschule Wismar – University of Applied Sciences, Germany, in 2005. She completed her theatrical lighting design apprenticeship with Kongshaug og Søn in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Khun Pilasinee then joined White Arkitekter AB, (the largest architecture firm in Scandinavia) based in Gothenburg, Sweden. She returned to Thailand to work at Woods Bagot as a Project Leader/Lighting Designer. She has also worked as a Lighting Designer at Meinhardt (Thailand) for 5 years and WVK Design Solutions as a Lighting Architect. Her Lighting experience in Europe, Asia and Nordic countries has sharpened her ability to merge local culture and modern lighting design in the best possible way.

Khun Pilasinee is a Registered Architect in Thailand, a design member of the Professional Lighting Designers’ Association (PLDA) and a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). To share her knowledge, she has been invited to guest lecturer at the Assumption University, Bangkok Thailand.
